Under Florida law, parents have a legal duty to support their minor child. The amount to be paid is determined by Florida’s Child Support Guidelines which looks at both parents monthly net income. Courts may also look at several other factors when determining child support. Theses factors include, but are not limited to, the amount of alimony to be paid or received, time sharing arrangements between parents, and the comparative incomes of the parents.
Because circumstances surrounding each case are different, the amount of child support will vary from case to case.
